New Niece: Chloe Kay

On Sunday, we went to visit our new niece, Chloe Kay, who was born to Aaron's sister, Emilee and Shane.  She was born December 15th and was 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and 21 inches long.  I snapped some pictures while I was there.  She is a cutie pie!!

Christmastime at the Walkers

I just wanted to capture some of our Christmas moments around the house, i.e. Christmas decorations.  This is my favorite time of year and I love the house decorated!  I was contemplating why this time of year always feels so special.  And of course, I know it is because we celebrate our Savior's birth.  But also, I think that it is so special because this is the time of year when family gets together.  And I LOVE being with my family.  We have a very special Christmas Eve party that my aunt and uncle host that we've been going to every year since we were kids.  And now Aaron loves going too.  We wouldn't miss it for the world!  I also love the general feeling of good will towards man!

One of our new trees this year.  The black and white tree to go in the black and white French parlour.  I want to get an Eiffel tower for the top (my sister, Heidi's idea).

The pink tree for all of my girly ornaments.  Shoes and shopping!!

Our main Christmas tree.  Don't be fooled.  Those presents are for other people!

The stockings were hung by the "chimney" with care....

Fun pictures taken at the photo booth at my work party.  :)

Entertainment Center Project

So our early Christmas present to ourselves was a new t.v. since our last one broke.  Aaron decided to build an entertainment center himself and I must say, it looks pretty awesome.  He googled some plans online and then went to work.  I am so proud of him!

Starting from scratch....

Ta-da!  Final product.  You can't really see the detail, but it has beautiful trim.

Surviving Sandy a.k.a. East Coast Trip

Okay, I'm playing catch up with my blog posts today.  Our East Coast vacation strangely coincided with hurricane Sandy.  We were still able to do a lot, though.  It only slowed us down in Philadelphia and made us cut New York out of our trip (Boo!)  But we took some great pictures (about 1000 of course) but here are the highlights (the bare bones of the trip):

Virginia

Aaron and I with Thomas Jefferson at Monticello.

St. John's Episcopal Church in Richmond, VA where Patrick Henry gave his famous "Give me liberty or give me death" speech.  Look at the leaves on the trees.  I was so excited!!

Jefferson's home, Monticello.  Gorgeous!

Love, love, love!!  It was a dream of mine to visit this home ever since I learned about it in the 5th grade

George Washington's Home (Mt. Vernon) was equally as beautiful and had more open grounds
